WYOU 100.9 FM Williamsburg Public Radio WYOU provides us with a media outlet to help spread the word about biodiesel, and other renewable & sustainable resources. On December 6'th 2005, WYOU was authorized by the FCC to broadcast at the 100.9 spectrum. This completes a 7-year process for licensing WYOU. WYOU also streams its on-air broadcast. WYOU is taking public broadcast back to its roots. Our format is a public broadcasting format weekdays from 10 AM till 12 AM and from 7 PM till 11 PM. Morning shows include talk show favorites like The Health Show, 51 Percent, Talking History, The Jefferson Hour, AARP Radio and many more specialty talk shows examining today's issues. Evening programming is swing and jazz on Mondays, Folk on Tuesdays, bluegrass on Wednesdays, Acoustic on Thursdays, 50's and 60's on Friday, old time radio on Saturdays, and world music on Sundays. WYOU is a Triple-A, Americana and Roots station from 12 - 7 pm and 11pm - 10 am.. We feature new artists and have a great selection of local artists on our play list. WYOU is part of the Norfolk-Virginia Beach market that is rated nationwide as the 40'th largest market in the USA. We chart artists on Radio and Records - Americana Chart, Roots Music Report, Americana Music Association, Triple-A Radio and New Music Weekly. Our all-volunteer staff includes, John McClung: Program Director who created the format and mix that is aired, Joyce Morrin: Promotions Director who provides the concerts and events with the cool merchandise, BJ Leiderman: Musical Director who does the great artists interviews, Cyberview Solutions who provides our internet and server support, And Ed Langhals: General Manager. |
